At Tendresse and Sage, we are committed to making better alternative personal care products for consumers. We believe that educating broad audiences on the importance of healthy personal care products is key. It’s what keeps us going. Our great handmade soap and personal care products, crafted perfectly, with attentive service sets us apart. It’s also what engages our clients and helps them embrace the conventional wisdom of prioritizing self-care and possess a deeper awareness of what goes into our bodies via personal care products. We like to educate our clients, who walk away with great soap and the tools to make informed decisions about alternatives to commercially made products.
Using organic and Fair Trade (where possible) ingredients, avoiding synthetic colorants and fragrances, working with a diverse team of people as well as women and minority-owned businesses, we create great soap. We build healthy and informed communities, client by client, family by family, wherever we go. It’s all part of the fabric of our company culture.
OUR FOUNDER
Tendresse and Sage has been in the handmade soapmaking business for the past decade. We believe there is no such thing as hypervigilance when it comes to children, their environment, and their overall well-being. We draw inspiration from the brilliant, hard-working, progressive women that our founder studies. Before soap, our founder focused her doctoral on the development of domestic science in higher education. She also worked part-time as a museum educator to support her serious hobbies: traveling, cooking, and collecting cookbooks.
Her mission is to use responsibly sourced ingredients that we can pronounce and possibly find in our pantry, rather than detergents and synthetic colorants and fragrances found in commercially made soap. She is inspired by memories of being a young mother constantly trying to source good personal care products for her children and herself, which has led to a beautiful collection of artisan handmade soaps.
